We're super pumped for the holiday this weekend!
What it's called depends entirely on where you live - BC Day, New Brunswick Day, Simcoe Day, Saskatchewan Day, Natal Day (NS and PEI), Heritage Day if you're in Alberta. We call it the Civic Holiday.
It's not even a federal holiday. Nobody standardized it, nobody agreed on a name. It just works anyway, because enough people decided a long weekend in August was worth having.
We thought about this more than you'd expect, because it's kind of how do+dare gets made too - a patchwork of places working together to create something awesome.
Labels from Markham. Waistband and thread from Montreal. Everything sewn together about ten minutes from where this whole holiday started: Toronto's City Council called for a "midsummer holiday" back in 1869 in Scarborough. So cool!
However you're spending the long weekend, and whatever you call it, we hope it's a good one. And if you've got five minutes between patio and porch to browse some undie styles, we'll be here.
